What if the Chromebook is lost or stolen?

Posted by:

The family is fully responsible for loss in or out of school. If a Chromebook is insured through Worth Ave, (the self insurance program offered by Barnstable Public Schools), it is covered by theft.  If a family has not selected to insure through Worth Ave, the family is responsible for the cost of the Chromebook ($230.00). If a Chromebook is lost, report it to both the CIA Department and the Infrastructure Department immediately so that it can be recorded as such and tracked. All efforts will be entertained to recover the device by using the tracking software. A police report should be filed by the families when it has been verified by technology departments that it cannot be recovered. Once it is determined it is a theft, then it is covered by Worth Ave Insurance.
