How do we use the insurance/ warranty? How does our student make a claim?

If a student has a damaged Chromebook, the device should be brought directly to the Infrastructure Department the next school day. Those hours of operation will be determined. The Infrastructure Department determines whether the device is covered under our HP extended warranty or Worth Ave Insurance. The student will be issued a loaner and the ASSIGNED Chromebook sent back for repair.

Neither the warranty nor insurance cover intentional damage of the Chromebook.  If the Chromebook is intentionally damaged it will be the student and family’s responsibility to cover the full value of the damaged Chromebook.

Once the Chromebook is repaired, that device is returned to the student. NOTE that the student is issued the same device for 3 years, so we ask that the student take good care of the equipment.
