Can my son/daughter opt out of the Chromebook 1:1 and bring in their own device?

Yes. Students can bring their own device to school. They must be sure it is charged and protected with antivirus software if not a Chromebook.

Students using their own device will only have access to the guest network. BPS staff including technology staff may not assist students with personal devices including troubleshooting technical issues.

Please note that all students are required to have access to technology in the classroom: either a school-issued Chromebook or an equivalent device (or better) for classwork at BHS. Phones are not considered an equivalent device for classroom learning.

For the 2019- 2020 school year, we do encourage all students to sign up for a district issued device.
