Detective Reid Hall has been with Barnstable Police Department for 44 years. He was assigned to the Detective Division in 1980 as an investigator and the Juvenile Officer. Detective Hall’s mission for the Barnstable Police Department has always been to work with and help people, in particular juveniles. He started the Safe Schools meetings in 1992, which included Barnstable Police Department Officers, School Staff, Barnstable Juvenile Court Staff, DCF and other agencies. Detective Hall has been assigned as the SRO to Barnstable High School since 2006. One of his many responsibilities is teaching the Student Police Academy classes, which meets every day. This is a full year course and some current members of the Barnstable Police Department have taken the class. There is also Shop with a Cop, which is held every August before school starts and before Christmas. Detective Hall investigates any case reported by students that occur in or out of school. Detective Hall has also spoken to all 32 Citizen's Police Academy classes, which includes former Student Police Academy students.
