Barnstable Public Schools Title I Program - Requirements

To be in compliance with the requirements of ESSA each Barnstable Public School receiving Title I funds will:

  1. Convene an annual Title I Open House, at a convenient time, to which all parents of participating children will be invited and encouraged to attend.
  2. Offer a flexible number of meetings to parents and provide information regarding the Title I program, curriculum, assessments, and proficiency level.
  3. Involve parents in an organized, ongoing, and timely way, in the planning, implementation, and review of the Title I programs.
  4. Jointly develop a home-school compact with parents outlining the responsibilities of the student, teacher, and parent/guardian for improved student academic achievement.

The Barnstable Public Schools believe that parents who are involved in their child’s education and who voluntarily contribute their time and talents to the improvement and enrichment of their child’s instructional program are valuable assets. Every effort will be made to seek parent involvement in the Title I program in a manner, which will ensure maximum contribution to the welfare and educational growth of our students.
