How are the Schools Selected?

By regulation, only those schools designated Schoolwide and Targeted Assistance Schools are eligible to receive program services under Title I. Both Schoolwide and Targeted Assistance Schools are those schools situated in areas of town having a relatively high incidence of low-income population. Using Economically Disadvantaged data, schools in those attendance areas whose percentage of low-income children is greater than the district average are designated as Title I eligible schools. Any student who attends a Schoolwide or Targeted Assistance School is eligible for Title I services; there are no income standards for individual students.

For the current year, Barnstable United Elementary School, and Hyannis West Elementary are the schools eligible to receive Title I services.
