The following are available now for this school year.

You should inquire and/or apply by using the online application on the Scholarship Donor’s website or by the application in the Scholarship Drawer

(if available) in the School Counseling Department – Room 2112. Please see Mrs. Kipnes with any questions.

 

 

Town of Barnstable – Martin J. Flynn Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants must be a resident of the Town of Barnstable who will be pursuing their education beyond the secondary level at an institution deemed accredited by the Scholarship Committee following graduation.  Student must have financial need, character, and scholastic record and must be involved in community service as well as extra-curricular activities.

How to Apply: Applications and information are available from Mrs. Kipnes in the School Counseling Office – Room 2112.

Amount of Award: Scholarships will be given in varying amounts, not to exceed $1000.

Deadline: April 30, 2019

 

Massachusetts JCI Senate Scholarship

Criteria:  Applicants must be a graduating student in Massachusetts who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools.

How to Apply: Application is in word format and must be completed in accord with the instruction thereon. Applications are available online at http:\\.majcisenate.weebly.com\ If you have questions regarding the application, please contact Ed or Marilyn Lariviere at: 508-776-6059.

Amount of Award: The Massachusetts JCI Senate will award two (2) $ 1000.00 scholarships to graduating students in Massachusetts.   The State winners will be forwarded to the National JCI Senate and will be eligible for additional $ 1000.00 scholarships. They will also award a special $500 scholarship based on need and special circumstances.

Deadline:  Fill out application on line and print it out from the website. Must be postmarked no later than January 21, 2019.  Send to Ed & Marilyn Lariviere, 19 Stetson Street, Hyannis, MA 02601.

 

Henry David Thoreau Foundation

Criteria: Applicants should be Massachusetts high school seniors who are planning on attending college in the fall and entering into a field in environmental science.

How to Apply: Applications can be found on their website at www.thoreauscholar.org  See Mrs. Kipnes  for an information flyer.

Amount of Award: Win up to $20,000 in tuition scholarship monies.

Deadline: February 1, 2019

 

Osterville Garden Scholarship

Criteria:  Applicants must be a Town of Barnstable resident, must be a graduate of Barnstable public schools and must have demonstrated an interest in and ability to benefit from an education in the general fields of horticulture, landscape design or environmental studies including ecology, biology, botany and marine science.  Previous recipients may apply again.

How to Apply: Applications and more information are available from Mrs. Kipnes in the School Counseling Office – Room 2112.

Amount of Award: 1-4 scholarships valued from $1,000 to $6,000.

Deadline:  April 1, 2019

 

Lyndon Paul Lorusso Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants should be graduating seniors from Barnstable High School who possess in marked degree, the qualities exhibited by the student in whose memory it is named and given; honest, responsible and compassionate with an understanding of difficulties faced by others and a desire to help them. The recipient of this scholarship must be pursuing education beyond high school at an institution deemed accredited by the committee. The committee shall take into consideration each recipient’s financial need, character, scholastic record and involvement in community work as well as extracurricular school activities.

How to Apply: Applications are available from Mrs. Kipnes in the School Counseling Office – Room 2112.

Amount of Award:  10 Scholarships in the amount of $2500 will be awarded.

Deadline: Applications should be completed and returned to Mrs. Kipnes in the School Counseling Office – Room 2112 no later than March 25, 2019

 

Military Officers Association of Cape Cod Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants should be high school seniors of Cape Cod and the Islands who is the child, sibling or grandchild of a member of the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration who are;

  • On active duty or,
  • A retired member of the above with the minimum of 20 years active service currently receiving retired pay or,
  • A reserve/guard member of the above with a minimum of 20 years service completed or,
  • A member of same who may be deceased, killed or missing in action or,
  • A former member of same who was separated under Honorable conditions.

Applicants are not necessarily required to attend a secondary school on Cape Cod or the Islands, but must be a resident of thereof.

How to Apply: Applications and information are available from Mrs. Kipnes in the School Counseling Office – Room 2112.

Amount of Award: 2-4 scholarships totaling $12000.

Deadline: Completed applications must be returned to Mrs. Kipnes in School Counseling Office by March 21, 2019 in order to be sent to CCMOA by March 30, 2019.
