“Class of 2022”

The following are available now for this school year. 

Unless otherwise noted you can obtain applications and information from Mrs. MacFarlane in Student Support, Hub 4, room 2112.

Pay close attention to how the scholarships are paid if you should be the recipient.  This information will be at the end of each Scholarship listed.

 

Cape Area Pilot’s Association Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants should be residents of Cape Cod, Massachusetts who are US citizens and graduating from high school. Scholarships are offered to individuals interested in pursuing any aviation related field leading to an aviation career.  These scholarships are not exclusively for pilot training. They can be for Pilot Training, Maintenance Technician, Air Traffic Controller, Aerodynamics studies, Aviation Operations Specialists, Airport management and Related Aviation Sciences. 

How to Apply: Applications are available from Mrs. MacFarlane in Hub 4 – Room 2112.

Amount of Award: Five awards ranging from $2,000 - $2,500 will be awarded.

Deadline: March 31, 2022

This scholarship is paid directly to the college or institution upon receipt of first tuition bill.

 

Harriet M. Faunce Trust Scholarship

Criteria: Applicants should be residents of Bourne, Sandwich or Barnstable and graduating from a public high school in one of these towns or in a private high school. You must be planning on attending college in the fall of 2022.

How to Apply: Applications are available from Mrs. MacFarlane in Hub 4 – Room 2112.

Amount of Award: $2,000 each college year (max of 4 years.)

Deadline: March 15, 2022

This scholarship is paid directly to the college or institution upon proof of acceptance to college or institution.

 

Henry David Thoreau Foundation

Criteria: Applicants should be Massachusetts high school seniors who are planning on attending college in the fall and entering a field in environmental science.

How to Apply: Applications can be found on their website at www.thoreauscholar.org  

Amount of Award: Win up to $20,000 in tuition scholarship monies. ($2,500 each semester)

Deadline: Applications open October 15, 2022 and closes February 1, 2022 (do not wait until the last minute as this one is lengthy)

This scholarship will be paid directly to college or institution upon receipt of first tuition bill. 

 

Kraig Andre’Diggs Memorial Scholarship

Criteria:  This scholarship was created to honor the life of Kraig Diggs, BHS Class of 2015 graduate, to continue his legacy of compassion, kindness and living life to its fullest.  Any graduating seniors, Class of 2022, planning to continue their education in the fall, are encouraged to apply; financial need will be considered.

Amount of Award: 2 Scholarships from $500 to $1500 each will be awarded.

Deadline: No later than April 25, 2022

This scholarship will be paid directly to recipient in August/September upon proof of acceptance to college or institution (Fall enrollment record or student class schedule).

 

Cape Cod Mall – Shari Simon-Greenberg Community Scholarship:

The Shari Simon Greenberg Community Scholarship of the Simon Youth Foundation supports graduating seniors who live in a Simon mall community through one-time scholarships.

Scholarship recipients are eligible for a one-time scholarship of up to $1,500 (based on available funding), with one scholarship awarded at each Simon center.

In addition, the top-ranking applicants selected in Simon communities will be eligible for the Award of Excellence, which is a renewable scholarship awarded to one student in eligible Simon regions.

Criteria: 

  • Be a high school senior attending school and living in a Simon® community and planning to graduate by Spring 2022.
  • Be a legal U.S. resident.
  • Plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school in Fall 2022.
  • Demonstrate academic promise and financial need.

 

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic promise, financial need, written response, work experience and community/extracurricular involvement.

Amount of Award: Two scholarships will be awarded as follows;

Shari Simon Greenberg Community Scholarships, up to $1,500 for one year

Award of Excellence, up to $2,500 a year for four years

Deadline:  February 16, 2022

This scholarship will be paid directly to recipient until successful completion of one semester at an accredited college or institution.



Barnstable County Agricultural Society Scholarship:

Criteria:  Applicant must reside in Barnstable County and must be entered in a course relating to:  Agriculture, Aquaculture, Green Sciences, Turf/Grass Management, Marine Sciences, Equine Sciences, Veterinarian, Family and Consumer Sciences to include Interior Design, Clothing and Textiles, Culinary Arts, Nutrition and Food Preservation, or management in a related field.  Must have a maintained GPA of 2.5 or greater.

How to apply:  Applications are available from Mrs. MacFarlane in Hub 4 – Room 2112.

Amount of Award:  17 awards of $2,000 each will be awarded.

Deadline:  March 4, 2022

This scholarship will be paid directly to recipient upon proof of acceptance to college or institution. The check will be presented on the Main Stage one night of the Barnstable County Fair.

 

The Gary Philbrick Memorial Scholarship:

Criteria:  Applicants must be going to college or in college planning a career in the golf industry, sports management or agronomy.  Must live in one of the towns on Cape Cod and the Islands.  It is need based and you must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0.  An interview is required (candidates must dress in proper golf attire).

How to apply:  Applications are available from Mrs. MacFarlane in Hub 4 – Room 2112.

Amount of Award:  Varies

Deadline:  May 31, 2022 (there are no exceptions to this deadline)

You will need to contact the Donor for information on how the scholarship is paid.
