The BHS Poetry Program sponsors and organizes the annual Poetry Out Loud school-wide competition and supports the winner of this competition in his/her/their advancement to the next round(s): regional, state, etc. We also organize and coordinate the annual BHS all-school Poetry Slam and help students find local poetry slam competitions when available. In the past we have (and hopefully in the future we will be able to) attended the state-wide national day of poetry festival with students from all grade levels. We have also been fortunate enough to bring students to the Dodge Poetry Festival in New Jersey. Any students interested in gathering together to write poetry weekly or monthly, just let us know!
