Mu Alpha Theta was created to acknowledge and promote outstanding all-around scholarship as well as commitment and excellence in the study of mathematics and its applications. Our mission is to promote community service, leadership, and honorable conduct, and provide students the opportunity to perform mathematics at a higher level beyond the classroom.

Students must be entering their Junior/Senior year at Barnstable High School, have and maintain a 3.0 Overall GPA and a 3.5 or higher (weighted) average in all math classes and be recommended by at least one math teacher. Students will compete in math competitions and offer tutoring to other students either 1 on 1 or in a math tutoring lab.
