The Tri-M Music Honor Society is a national program of NAfME (National Association for Music Educators) which focuses on creating future leaders in music education and music advocacy. Barnstable's chapter has participated in various community activities including: concession sales at concerts, alphabetized and organized the Music Department Library, played Carols for Holidays Strolls and nursing homes, provided Youth Outreach Band Lessons at elementary schools, voiced advocacy in Music In Our Schools month and organize numerous benefit concerts. Students that are accepted into the chapter, are held at the highest level of expectation for the music department and the community. 10 hours of community service are required for each student throughout the year, in addition of maintaining a 2.5 overall GPA and a 3.0 GPA in enlisted music classes.
