Future marine biologists: Volunteers are needed for the Annual Marstons Mills River Herring Count.  The information session and training is Saturday, March 7th from 9am-11am at the Osterville Library.  To volunteer, contact Heather Rockwell at or call (508)420-0780.

Sgt. Susman from the United States Marines will be here on Tuesday, 3/3 during all lunches in the Jr/Sr Cafe.

Sgt. Emerson from the United States Air Force will be here on Wednesday, 3/4 during all lunches in the Jr/Sr Cafe.

National Heart Health Day: Friday (2/28/20) is Town of Barnstable wear Red for National Heart Health Day. All employees and students in the Town of Barnstable are encouraged to wear Red in support of a healthy heart.

Attention all Seniors: prom committee meeting that was scheduled for this Thursday is cancelled and rescheduled for next Thursday March 5th in Mrs. Gardiner’s room 1522.

MIAA Tournament events. All spectators will be required to pay, in order to attend the MIAA tournament events.  Student prices for basketball will be $5:00, with adults at $7.00. Student prices for hockey will be $6.00 and adults will be $8.00. Kids under 5 are free. Seniors 62 and over may purchase student tickets.

Attention all Seniors: Senior sweatshirts are now available for order. Pick up a green order form outside Mrs. Gardiner’s room or in any hub office. Orders are due by March 11th.

Attention all Juniors: National Honor Society invitations are available from TGA teachers. Please see your teacher ASAP deadline March is March 5th to apply.

3 on 3 basketball will be Thursday, March 12th after school.  The cost is $15.00 per team. Each team must be sponsored by a staff member.  Sign up sheets and rules can be found in the Hub offices or please see Mrs. MAch-Dixon.

BHS Annual DODGEBALL Tournament is NOW accepting team sign ups! Grab your form from Ms. Bishop in Operations Hub or see Mrs. Gardiner in room 1522. Tournament is held on Tuesday, March 10 at 2:15. Teams of 5-6 players need a teacher sponsor that will play or just cheer them on! You have until 2:15 PM on Monday, March 9, 2020 to sign up! Cost is $5 per player.

Tuesday, March 3rd, is Super Tuesday: the day when most states, including Massachusetts, hold their primaries in order to choose our next presidential candidates.  Thanks to Mr. Moynihan's AP Government students, BHS students and staff will have the opportunity to participate in a BHS Mock Primary during lunches.  Polling stations will be set up in the Jr/Sr Cafe, the Main Cafe, and the Library. Please take a minute to practice your civic duty on March 3. The BHS Mock Primary election results will be shared through an announcement at the end of the day.  Let's see how our choices compare with the rest of the state and the nation.

MCAS March Retest for ELA are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, March 2, 4, 5.  Math is Friday, March 6th and Monday, March 9th. Make up day is Tuesday, March 10th.  If you are unsure if you are scheduled to take the retest your HUB office has the list and room assignments.

Fire and Ice Winter Social. Thank  you to all who purchased tickets for our Fire and Ice Winter Social.  Due to the short time frame for selling tickets, will be postponing the event until  tentative Thursday, March 12th or Friday, March 13th. The event will be open to grades 9-12 and you can continue to purchase tickets through Mrs. Maurice in Room 2208 and Mr. Jansen in Room 1602. For those of you that did purchase tickets, your ticket is good for the postponed event and your name is in our database as paid.  Thank you for your support and we will keep you updated on the event. We should know by Friday.

Soles For Souls. The team of Caroline Badot, Neilie Fromhein, and Abby Al-asousi  are spearheading a campaign "Soles for Souls". They are collecting gently worn shoes that the will donate money for each pound of shoes to Safe Harbors- a shelter and support system for victims of domestic abuse here on Cape Cod.  Their goal is to raise $1000.00. A by-product of the shoe drive is that the shoes are donated to micro-entrepreneurs in underdeveloped countries for them to generate a business to help sustain themselves and their community. Collection boxes will be distributed around the school and community for easy drop off.  So please donate your gently worn shoes, sneakers, boots, sandals, etc.. for a worthy cause.

Library reminder. In order to come to the Library after school on late bus days you must have your student ID AND a pass from a teacher verifying that you have work to do. All Teachers have the after-school pass.

Need money?  HYCC is hosting a Youth Job Fair Wednesday, March 4th from 2:30-4:30 at the HYCC.  BHS will be providing bus transportation to the event. If you need to take the bus over, sign up in the Operations Office (2713) with Ms. Bishop. Nervous about applying for a job?  Mrs. Eastman will help you prepare with a workshop in the library on Tuesday, March 3rd during TGA.

The Class of 2024 will be offering a SkyZone Trip on Thursday,  March 5th from 2-6PM for $35; this includes pizza, drink, bus transportation and 1 1/2 jump time. Permission slips available outside room #2605--Mrs. Cattabriga's room  and grade 8 history classroom.--spots are limited so do not delay!

Attention Seniors: you should have received our February Scholarship Bulletin from your counselor. If you did not receive one or need a replacement, please see your counselor or pick one up in Hub 4. Please pay attention to the deadline for applying for these scholarships, it is strictly adhered to and late applications will not be accepted. If you need help or have questions please see Mrs. MacFarlane.

The Class of 2024 will be having a fundraiser at Chipotle at the Cape Cod Mall on Wednesday, 2/12 from 4-8PM. Show the event flier and make money for the class of 2024; fliers available in Hub offices, grade 8 history and English classes and room #2605. It is also posted on your class Instagram.

If you are a student, who had a locker located outside of Hub 2, and are missing any belongings, items that were left in the lockers during their removal, have been placed in Hub 2.

Jewish teens eligible for overseas trip scholarship. The New England chapter of March of the Living invites Jewish teenagers to apply for a trip to Poland and Israel to learn about the history of the Holocaust and examine the roots of prejudice, intolerance and hate. The next teen trip will take place April 17 to May 1. Every Jewish high school senior in Massachusetts is eligible for a $2,000 scholarship toward a future trip. Any junior or senior interested in learning about Aviation Maintenance is eligible to attend a field trip to the Plymouth Aviation program through Cape Cod Community College Pathways program.  The field trip is scheduled for Feb. 27th. Please report to Hub 1 to sign up by 1/24. Students in grades 8-10 may sign up for the trip with approval from their school counselor.

Looking for community service hours? Grab a friend and help Lyme Awareness of Cape Cod sell raffle tickets for the Spectacle of Trees event. If interested, call Ron Gangemi at 774-238-2316 or call Gail at 508-477-7896. You will even earn a percentage of the ticket sales!
