9/25/20 Letter to Parents
Good afternoon BUES families,
As we end our second week of remote learning and begin to prepare for in-person learning, I have several updates to share.
In person schedule for the next two weeks
- The next phase of our reopening begins on Monday, September 28th. For the first TWO WEEKS, in person learning at BUES will be from 8:00 am -12:10 pm. Those students who are in the building will be dismissed at 12:10.
- Wednesdays are remote for all. The Wednesday schedule will be the same as this week. Days for each cohort
- If your student is in cohort A: they will be in-person on Monday, Tuesday; they will be remote on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
- If your student is in cohort B: they will be remote on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday; they will be in-person on Thursday and Friday.
- If your student is in cohort C: they will be in-person on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; they will be remote on Wednesday.
- If a student comes to school on a day they are not supposed to, you will have to come to the building and pick them up.
If you are driving your student to school
- Please see the map for parent pick up (attached).
- Students will enter using different doors depending on grade level.
- Students can get dropped off starting at 7:50 am.
- Pick up will start at 11:50 am.
- On Monday, we will have Barnstable Police officers on hand to help with traffic flow. ● Please be patient as we are anticipating an increase in parent drop-off and pick-up.
Breakfast and Lunch
- Students will receive a brown-bag breakfast as they enter the building and a lunch they can bring home. We will not be eating lunch at school next week. In addition to breakfast, students will have time for a snack that they can bring from home. ● Breakfast is free all year, and lunch will be free until December 31st.
- For cohort D students (Monday. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday) and for all students on Wednesdays, lunch is available for pick up 9 am -10am.
What to keep in backpacks for the year
- Students will keep their backpacks on their chairs throughout the day. ● Small package of tissues
- Small bottle of hand sanitizer
- An extra mask
- Water bottle
Thank you for your continued effort to support your child’s learning. I am looking forward to having students return to the building. It’s been too long!
Have a great weekend!
- Mr. Wojkowski, BUES Principal
