February is Black History Month!
We celebrate the achievements of African Americans and recognize the prominent role of African Americans in U.S. history. Black History Month, created by American Historian Carter G. Woodson, originally began as Negro History Week. Since 1976, every U.S. President has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month.
Native American Heritage Month
In November we pay tribute to our country’s Native Americans and their significance to our country’s cultural fabric. Their contributions to our history and society have been immeasurable, and we are especially grateful to live in a community with such strong ties to our Native American ancestors.
National Hispanic Heritage Month
National Hispanic Heritage Month is September 15 to October 15. Celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
