Staff Health and Safety Training for In-Person Learning

  • As we begin our preparations to reopen schools in the Fall, we are committed to making as much information available to staff, students, and families as early as possible.  All of the information set forth on this page is available for you to review on your own time prior to school beginning.

Time will be provided at the beginning of the year, prior to the return of students, for all staff to participate in these training protocols.  During the required training, you will watch the COVID-19/PPE video and review the two informational documents. There will be a short quiz at the end. We anticipate this should take about 30 minutes.

Additional small group, in-person training will be provided for staff who are required to wear additional Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) due to the need to be in regular, close contact with students, including Instructional Assistants and Personal Care Assistants who support students with feeding and/or toileting needs.

It is also important to remember that this training is intended to provide you with as much information as is available so that you can develop effective habits to keep yourself, your coworkers, and your students healthy.  The District's overall health and safety plan relies on three key factors:

    • Mask/Face Coverings - Educators and staff are required to wear masks/face covering while at work (please reach out to Tammy Cunningham, Assistant Director of Human Resources, if you need to discuss an accommodation to this requirement); students will also be encouraged/required to wear masks depending on grade-level

    • Physical Distancing - A minimum of six feet of physical distance is required; staff should seek to maximize physical distance among individuals whenever possible; additional PPE will be made available for staff, including nurses and staff working supporting students who require close, proximate support, when physical distance is not possible

    • Hand Hygiene- Frequent handwashing is encouraged and hand sanitizer (using battery-operated, no-touch dispensers) will be available in key locations

Thank you for completing this necessary COVID-19 education for school staff!
