    Dear Families,

We are off to a great start here at school! We are focusing on teaching routines and rituals, creating safe and collaborative learning environments, and defining expectations. I will be sending a newsletter monthly through our alert system. Please check that your email is up to date on Aspen to receive it. I will also post on our webpage.

A Healthy Start to the Day!

We start each day with a walk around our playground. This is a great way to connect with each other and get some exercise. Soon, our Police and Fire community partners will be walking with us as well! We will be reaching out to parents soon for volunteers to help during our morning walk.

    Drop off and Pick up

Our drop off procedure is going well. Parents should drop off  in the basketball court.  If there is a line, please be sure to not block the buses coming out of the loop! Also, an important reminder: All cars must follow the line out of school. Do not try to go around traffic to get out sooner as we have students exiting cars and this creates an unsafe situation.

    Popsicles on the Playground

Our start of school activities were a big success! Students were able to get out some first day jitters and make a few new friends. Thanks to the PTA for some refreshing Popsicles!

    Thank You!

Thank you to Lindey Teague for our fun lawn signs!

A special thank you to the Jones family from Earth Day Landscaping and the PTA for helping to beautify our school with mulch for our front garden!

    Half Days

Please check the district calendar for half days. Lunch is not served on half-days, but students will want to have a snack for the morning.

    Expectations

Our staff has been hard at work modeling and teaching our matrix of expectations.

    Community Services Projects

Developing students’ civic responsibility is part of our curriculum. Each year we choose an organization to support and all grade levels will do a project that involves the students and helps the organization. We have found that many of these organizations in turn support our families as well! This year we have selected Project Night Night! This organization provides supportive items to children who become homeless.

Your child’s grade level will reach out when they are doing their projects so you can get involved!

Another organization that we supported in the past is Cape Kids Meals! If you are in need of food for the weekends for your family, please sign up.

    Attention Stakeholders!

We will be receiving $6 million in funding from the American Rescue Plan (ARP). The purpose of the relief funds is to allow districts and schools to safely reopen and sustain safe operations over the next three years. Priorities to be addressed include the academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs of all students, and particularly those disproportionately impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Please offer your feedback: English survey | Portuguese survey | Spanish survey
