    How to start a DI Team                      

    1. Familiarize yourself with the Destination Imagination program at DestinationImagination.org or MadiKids.org.

    2. Begin to talk to parents of children who might be interested in DI. Think about building a team which will work well together.

      • A team can have 5-7 members, enrolled in Barnstable Public Schools, in grades 3-12. The team’s competitive level is determined by the oldest child’s grade level.

      • In grades K-2, there can be up to 10 members, and the grades can be mixed.

      • Collect contact information from the members.

      • Fee is waived for: Children on Free & Reduced Lunch, and children of Team Managers.

    1. Try to enlist a Co-Manager.

    2. Contact the DI Coordinator, Lynore Frew, at frew_lynore@mybps.us for a Team Manager packet.

      • Set up an informational meeting with the team and parents.

      • Forms to fill out: Registration, (2) conduct forms, waivers for Free & Reduced Lunch

      • Fee to be paid of $75; check to Town of Barnstable.

      • When these items are turned in to Gateway, at BIS, you can download a Team Manger manual and a registration number.

    Then choose a meeting date and place and let the fun begin!
