•  Winter 2018:
Please note that we are seeing active cases of Influenza here at West Villages Elementary School. It is not too late to call your child's pediatrician and consider having your child get a flu shot. The state of Mass is not offering the nasal spray for children this year, only the actual flu shot/immunization. Receiving the shot, for both children and adults, is best in the fall, by the end of October if able.
If your child has had a fever, cough or prolonged respiratory illness, please see the Pediatrician to rule out Influenza. If they do test positive for Influenza, please let the school nurse know.
Remember, children should stay home for 24 hours after they are fever free without any fever reducing medication.  Also, if your child has been started on medication or antibiotics for illness, they should remain home for the first 24 hours after the first dose is administered. Thank you, and stay well!
