Good morning West Villages Elementary School family,

We are excited to welcome all our students back this Wednesday, September 16th for our 1st phase of reopening which will be remote for all students.  Although we had to make some difficult decisions we can now move forward and get the school year started.  I want to make you aware that in this process we lost 4 staff members to remote learning, changed some classroom structures and spaces,  switched our math interventionist into a classroom teacher, repurposed our gym, library, auditorium, and many other school spaces to storage space , staff offices, student service rooms, etc.  This was all within a two week time period.  I want to thank all the families that have sent me encouraging email and messages supporting the teaching staff and I during this time period.  I also want to acknowledge those who felt I was not forthcoming with communication or delayed in sending out information to families in a timely manner.  My delay was due to the changes that were occurring daily which may have caused more confusion to share when the situation was so fluid.  I value open and clear communication with families.  I appreciate and understand that our home school partnership is even more crucial than ever before.  I will continue to do my best to relay information and respond to families questions and concerns, I just ask that you be patient with me and the school staff as we navigate these unprecedented times.

    Ms. Faial
