Barnstable Public Schools is committed to offering a comprehensive professional development program that supports student and educator needs and district initiatives.
Graduate courses taken for credit may be eligible for tuition reimbursement per contract. Participants must submit a Course Approval Form to their building principal if they wish to use graduate credits for reimbursement or salary change.
The School Committee may grant one (1) in-service credit that will be valid on the teacher salary schedule for the completion of a fifteen (15) hour in-service workshop series that has been approved and offered through the Professional Development Board. PDP’s will be allocated to the presenter and participants in accordance with state recertification regulations. The presenter of these workshops and those who present graduate level courses will receive two (2) in-service credits for a first-time presentation.
District Workshops will be offered to address specific program needs and staff interest. The faculty of Barnstable Schools is invited to submit proposals for workshops to the Professional Development Board for approval. Proposal forms are available online.
District Committees will be formed as needed to address specific district needs. Professional Development Points will be awarded
