District Goals
The Barnstable Public School Professional Development Board will serve as a resource to the system so that site-based professional development plans and system professional development plans are organized in an efficient and effective manner that enhances inclusion of staff members as part of the decision making process. It is recognized that staff professional development will be evaluated to demonstrate its success with improved instructional strategies and academic growth of our students.
Professional Development Board Goals:
- The Professional Development Board will serve as a resource for all professional development within the system and will work closely with site-based professional development committees so improvement will be demonstrated within the three (3) levels of professional development: Individual, Site-Based, and District.
- The Professional Development Board will develop professional goals and objectives for enhancement of teachers’ capacity to improve instruction and learning of students.
- The Professional Development Board will work with the Principals and/or site-based coordinators/directors to expect and encourage staff participation in the professional development plans at each site.
- The Professional Development Board will work with site-based professional development committees toward demonstration of alignment with District Goals.
District Goals:
- To continue to develop and implement a comprehensive plan to maximize student achievement for all students.
- To insure continual progress toward emotional and physical safety for all students.
