Searching on the Internet!
Internet Hotlist
Search Engine Sites, Search Directories, Research Sites
Grades K-6
Ever have a school project that you needed to find information for and you
wanted to use the Internet but didn't know what search engines to use?
Ever wonder about search engines that were safe for children to use?
After some research, I have put together an Internet Hotlist that contains search engines and directory sites for children. I have also included some multi-search sites. In addition to the search engines and directory sites, included are several links for children to use when doing research along with a couple links to go where you can learn how to determine if the site is reliable.
Remember: When students are doing research, they should enter search words specific to their research and use child-friendly search engines.
When you click on a link from this Hotlist, it will open a new window for you. To get back to the Hotlist, just close the window.
