  • Through acceleration and interest-based enrichment, expose students to challenging information about a variety of subjects 

  • coordinate with classroom teachers to help them differentiate instruction for students 
  • provide in-class instruction in higher level thinking skills to all students, beginning in grade one 
  • offer pull-out classes with trained Gateway Specialists
  • coordinate a number of competitive programs, such as Future Problem Solving, Math Counts, Math Olympiad, Mock Trial and Destination Imagination

Gateway prepares students for Advanced Placement classes at Barnstable High School, where students may earn an APID diploma: The Advanced Placement International Diploma.  

Destination Imagination is a team creative-problem solving program run under the auspices of the Barnstable Gateway Program. Funded by Gateway and the Friends of Gateway, Destination Imagination has been part of the Gateway Program for 30 years.
