Music Department
Mission Statement: "Barnstable Public Schools Music Department exists for the purpose of awakening and refining the aesthetic sensitivities of all children. The music program develops music skills, understandings, and attitudes that will enable students to enjoy a richer life through listening to or participating in music experiences. The Music Department staff is committed to providing all students with a quality music education."

Barnstable Intermediate School Band
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year in the Barnstable Intermediate School Band! In our music program students will develop a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, social skills, confidence, leadership and dependability. Being in band will give students a sense of accomplishment and pride, and students will develop musical skills, which will enrich their lives. Band is a wonderful opportunity to make life-long friends.Students attend one band rehearsal and one group lesson per week.
Barnstable Intermediate School Chorus
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year in the Barnstable Intermediate School Chorus! In our music program students will develop a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, social skills, confidence, leadership and dependability. Being in chorus will give students a sense of accomplishment and pride, and students will develop musical skills, which will enrich their lives. Chorus is a wonderful opportunity to make life-long friends.Students attend one chorus rehearsal per week. Any students interested in joining chorus should see Ms. Hannah in room 137.
Barnstable Intermediate School Strings
Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year in the Barnstable Intermediate School Strings! In our music program students will develop a sense of responsibility, self-discipline, social skills, confidence, leadership and dependability. Being in string ensemble will give students a sense of accomplishment and pride, and students will develop musical skills, which will enrich their lives. String Ensemble is a wonderful opportunity to make life-long friends.Students in the string program attend one orchestra rehearsal and one group lesson per week. Students interested in joining orchestra should speak with Ms. Capparella in room 135B.
