Board of Trustees

The primary role of the board is governance. Governance encompasses legal responsibility, general oversight planning, policy making and meeting fiduciary requirements. As you can see these are serious responsibilities, but we are confident this group will do an outstanding job. We wish them well as they begin the process of building the new foundation of Barnstable Community Horace Mann Charter Public School.

From the Board of Trustees
Welcome to BCHMCPS…a very special and unique school. We on the board are dedicated to fulfilling the promise of our charter school mission, which is to promote
the development of the whole child,
and the development of a whole school community.
In other words, we want to give our children roots, and wings.
We give our children wings through the use of gifted-talented strategies and enrichment for all students. Also, our state-of-the-art Enrichment Cluster program provides opportunities for children to try out and explore new fields of interest.
We give our children roots, by working as a whole school community, seeking all opportunities that give our children authentic experiences in the real world. The children begin each year with a whole-school Community Theme experience, learning at each grade level, about the many aspects of community: community people in and out of school, our natural community, and how successful communities function.
As an Accelerated Schools Plus model school, we continue to engage our children in everyday powerful learning activities which are authentic, continuous, learner-centered, interactive, and inclusive.
Imagine a school…..here it is!
