At Hyannis West we embrace the uniqueness in every child. The passionate staff works diligently to ensure that your child receives a challenging and joyful educational experience.
 
We pride ourselves in building strong relationships with our students utilizing the Responsive Classroom approach. A strong sense of community is formed in every classroom and throughout the school. Staff members create a learning environment where students feel safe to take risks, express and share their ideas freely, and to reach beyond their academic potential. Parent and community involvement is also important to us and is evident by the countless volunteers that visit our school on a daily basis.

At Hyannis West we welcome and embrace the uniqueness of all children. We believe all children can achieve at high levels when high expectations are placed upon them, resources are used effectively, and opportunities are provided to them.

In order to accomplish our vision…

Students will:
  • Attend school everyday, on time.
  • Act in a respectful, responsible, and safe manner at all times.
  • Demonstrate effective effort and produce their best work.
  • Demonstrate proficiency at or above grade level.

Staff will:
  • Deliver high quality, standards-based instruction, in an engaging, supportive manner.
  • Use ongoing assessments to challenge and support students based upon their individual needs.
  • Provide strategies to enhance students’ social, emotional, and ethical development.
  • Provide a safe, respectful school environment that values communication, trust, and teamwork among staff, students, families, and the community.
Our students will leave Hyannis West confident, independent learners. They will have the21st Century skills necessary to be competitive, contributing citizens of the future.
