PRINCIPAL’S NOTEBOOK


The next BWB School Council meeting will take place next Wednesday, October 22nd at 3:45 PM.
 
Grade One has two trips scheduled next week. They will visit Sturgis Library on Tuesday and travel to Coonamessett Farm on Wednesday.
 
What do you think about the start time of school? The Barnstable and Falmouth School Committees will be holding joint workshops on Monday, October 27th in Barnstable and Monday, November 3rd in Falmouth to discuss the issue. As I receive more specifics about location and times of meetings, it will be sent home.
 
As an FYI both the morning and after school daycare programs are at full capacity. We will create a waiting list for any parents seeking enrollment.

The Mission of Barnstable-West Barnstable Elementary School is to promote academic excellence, integrity and respect for others; inspiring children to become lifelong learners and contributing citizens of the world.

 

Vision Statement

Through a common standards based curriculum, students at Barnstable-West Barnstable Elementary School will demonstrate grade level proficiency in all academic areas.  Measurement of student progress will utilize multiple methods of assessment that are valid and credible.
  • All members of the school community (students, staff and parents) will be respectful to one another and responsible for their actions.  All students will attend school each day ready to learn.
  • Our school community will create a learning environment that fosters academic, social and emotional growth and development for all students.
  • All students will be provided the foundation to become critical and creative thinkers, problem solvers and independent learners.
  • All students and teachers will utilize the most current technology as an essential component of the learning process.
