Principal's Corner

Mr. Gigliotti, Principal at BWB.

Winter 2014

Welcome,

As we return to school in 2014 I invite you to keep up with upcoming school events by checking out the BWB calendar link. The calendar is updated monthly. I trust you will find this useful especially if you are a long-range planner.

Winters on Cape Cod can vary from sunny and mild temperatures one day to snow and a wind chill below zero the next. Let me review how we handle outdoor recess during the winter.
Field Conditions: Students are allowed to play in the snow if they have snow pants and boots or heavy shoes. Snow that turns into ice or melting snow that becomes mud will keep our students off the field.
Temperature: If the wind chill is above 20 degrees we will go outside. If it is between 15-20 degrees we try to get out for five minutes for some fresh air. If the wind chill is below 15 degrees students will stay indoors.
Dress your child for the weather conditions of the day, we always try to get outdoors if we can.

Over the next three months our School Council Meetings (3:45 PM) and PTA Meetings (7:00 PM) will take place on the same date each month (Jan. 8th, Feb. 5th and March 5th). These meeting are open to all.

Should you any questions about our school please do not hesitate to contact our main office

Sincerely,
Frank Gigliotti, Principal
