District Announcements

Principal's Corner

Friday, November 14, 2014

The next meeting of the BWB School Council will take place on Wednesday, November 19th at 3:45 PM. All are welcome to attend.

Also, next Wednesday our third graders will have their Open House from 6:30-7:30 PM.  Their focus will be to share what they have learned about what life was like in this area in the 1600’s.  Other grade levels will have their open house later in the school year.

Picture retake day will be held on Thursday, November 20th.  If you would like your child’s picture re-taken please have them bring back the entire picture packet except for the class picture.  If you missed the first picture day and would like your child’s picture taken, forms are available in the front office.

Forms for our annual Thanksgiving Feast on November 25th should have arrived home yesterday or today.  Please send back the return forms by November 20th.

Our Art teacher, Ms. Gilchrist would like to thank everyone that helped collect recycled materials for art projects last year.  She is still in need of egg cartons.  They are terrific for holding paint for our tempera paint projects.  If you have any egg cartons that you are recycling, please consider donating them to the art room.

Thank you to those who have signed-up to receive future newsletters, calendars and other items via e-mail.  We would like to have as many families sign-up as possible so here are the directions.   Please go to the BWB website.  *Under announcements you will see a link directing you to a page where you can complete the needed information.  If you are not familiar with our school website, go to  That will bring you to Barnstable Public Schools website.  In the upper right-hand corner you will see “select a school”.  Please select Barnstable-West Barnstable Elementary and you will be taken to our website.
